Industry Leading Professionals

Team photoMark Lenters, P.E., P.Eng, President, has over a 24-year period acquired extensive experience in roundabout engineering, traffic engineering, transportation planning and project management in the public and private sectors. He has developed skills in roundabout design, safety auditing, and project, personnel and financial management. Mr. Lenters has participated on national committees for signs, marking and safety auditing. He is active in ITE, TRB and TAC, and is an adjunct instructor at Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety.  Mark Lenters began collaborating with Barry Crown in 1999, the best roundabout designer in the world.  In 2002 Mark began partnering with Leif Ourston, the most experienced roundabout designer in the United States. In March 2005 Mark assumed leadership of the US and Canadian operations and expanded both to create a multi-talented, continent-wide roundabout consultancy.  Mark is a Level 3 Roundabout Designer, the highest level certification from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Philip Weber, P.Eng, manages the Canadian operation. He has a Masters degree in transportation engineering, and has over 15 years acquired experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning in the public and private sectors. He has recognized skills in high-capacity roundabout design, roundabout planning and review, transportation planning, and traffic safety.

Kevin Kuhlow, P.E. is a senior project manager with over 14 years of highway engineering experience including roundabout operational analysis, design and review, transportation project management, urban and rural highway design and construction inspection/observation, agency coordination, public involvement and pavement design. Since 2000 Kevin has been actively involved with all aspects of roundabout design and implementation.  Kevin is certified as a Level 3 roundabout designer for the State of Wisconsin where he is providing roundabout design review, support, and training through the State’s roundabout master contract.  Kevin recently completed the design of 16 multi-lane roundabouts along USH 41 in Winnebago County, Wisconsin.

Troy Pankratz, P.E. is licensed as a Professional Engineer to practice in Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Utah, and Wisconsin. Over an eleven-year period, Mr. Pankratz has acquired extensive experience in managing highway projects with a high level of involvement in roadway design. He is responsible for directing staff to complete project tasks to successfully deliver transportation projects on time and within budget. For the last seven years, Troy has focused on solving geometric and capacity deficiencies with modern roundabout intersections. His projects include planning, education, and design for roundabouts at locations across the country. Doing his own CAD design, Troy is highly qualified to design complex high-capacity roundabouts while being attentive to balancing competing objectives.  Troy is a also a Level 3 Roundabout Designer, the highest level certification from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Michael A. Gingrich Sr. has been practicing traffic engineering for over 12 years. He has managed and designed over 250 traffic signal and intersection geometric design projects. Michael has been a guest speaker at numerous seminars and conferences, including ASCE, ITE and TRB sponsored events, recently making several presentations at the 2008 TRB National Roundabout Conference. Michael teaches US and Canadian roundabout training seminars for Northwestern University, and serves on the ITE National Roundabout Task Force. His roundabout related work to date includes approximately sixty roundabout projects. Mr. Gingrich has traveled extensively in England to study roundabout design with international roundabout experts R. Barry Crown and Clive Sawers, and to consult with Transportation Research Laboratory senior researchers.

Jedidiah Munroe, P.E. is a Professional Engineer, licensed in Wisconsin, with extensive knowledge and experience in roundabout design, roadway design, and construction management. Jed has been responsible for a broad range of tasks on a variety of projects, contributing to his well rounded knowledge of transportation engineering.

Ben Wilkinson, P.E. is licensed as a Professional Engineer to practice in Iowa and Wisconsin. Over the past 12 years, Ben has gained extensive experience in transportation engineering and planning. Ben’s transportation experience includes urban and rural highway design, corridor planning studies, traffic and safety studies, and environmental documentation.
