Information on AutoTrack

AutoTrack models swept paths of all types of steered vehicles including articulated, drawbar, combination, and rear-steered trucks in loading areas & intersections, aircraft on taxiways, and rail vehicles in a wide variety of situations. Uses of the system include preparing and approving planning applications, designing loading areas, aircraft aprons and taxiways, parking lots and fuel station islands. The software runs as an extension, (MDL Application), with the industry-leading CAD packages AutoCAD and MicroStation. Don't have a CAD package? No problem! AutoTrack comes packaged with its own SavoyCAD stand-alone program.

Predictive Turning: Predictive Turning, ('Cat's Whiskers'), gives unique foresight into next turn for rigid and articulated vehicles.

Library Explorer Sorting: The customizable Vehicle Library Explorer allows you to sort and organize their library of vehicles via multi-column data sorting.

3D Animation (NOW AVAILABLE for MicroStation): AutoTrack's built-in 3D animation tools require no additional vehicle data entry. Also works with vehicles you create yourself.

Parking layout tools: Parking Layout Tools enable fast planning of vehicle parking areas. Support for all types of parking as well as special bay types. Built-in and user-definable parking standards. Dynamic reporting displays bay count by type, zone, service type, vehicle class, etc.

Report Wizard: A Report Wizard makes it even easier to get your output looking the way you want it. Toggle on and off various characteristics of your turn analysis: tire/wheel paths, body & chassis outlines, clearance envelopes, and many more!

Settings Wizard: A Settings Wizard makes it easier to find the most commonly used settings. Create custom settings and report styles for just yourself or all the users in your office.

Advanced driving algorithms: The path generation algorithm includes a time element that allows it to generate accurate swept paths at selected speeds.

Dynamic manoeuvre checking: Built-in checks prevent the user from inadvertently exceeding the vehicle limitations.

Extensive vehicle libraries: AutoTrack comes complete with over 200 predefined vehicles covering UK, USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand. And with a SM&U subscription, you gain access to an ever-growing online library of new vehicles created by Savoy and users around the world.

Two vehicle editors: Built in vehicle creation and editing facilities allow similar vehicles to be copied and then edited but also prevents the user from editing base library vehicles.

Support for complex steering: AutoTrack is able to model complex steering linkages (such as rear steered trailers). Axle types for Pendel axles, tandem-steered axles, and hydraulically steerable couplings. Additionally, choose between fixed, linked, or fully-independent rear-steerable axles. Steering angles for fully-independent rear-steerable axles can be dynamically adjusted while you drive!

AutoDrive: Revolutionary new way to drive vehicles that makes reversing large vehicles as easy as drawing a line – just point and click.

Vertical Clearance mode: Unique Vertical Clearance drive mode for checking headroom and ground clearance.

Follow: Allow vehicles to follow predefined paths.

Dynamic Editing: Don't like the path you created? Don't start over! AutoTrack's unique interactive editing tool can edit the alignment of swept paths by a simple drag of the mouse, including positions of vehicles with independent rear steering. As with other turn path creation, checks are performed to prevent impossible movements. 

Dynamic Reporting: Reports appear automatically as soon as you finish your path. Once generated, you can change the presentation format for any report without having to first delete old reports. New reports have been added for body and wheel, static and clearance envelopes allowing greater clarity of presentation.

Customizable: All settings, including report content, colors and line styles can be edited and saved as defaults saving time on future projects.

Animation: Real-time multi vehicle animation with AVI movie file output. Annotation and CAD commands may be inserted.
